Regan Walker Sails Away

I met Regan Walker at RT and was immediately taken with her tales of pirates.  There is just something about the swashbuckling bad boys who are redeemable that makes me long for the open seas and the wind blowing in my hair.  But, there’s more to Regan than lusting after pirates as she explains her process for research which includes sailing on a schooner.

Bottom Line: Now I can’t get the song, “Sail Away” out of my head.

  2. Nice interview Regan! Agreed, research is definitely one of the side benefits to writing historical romance. Sounds like you had a great time exploring sailing and I’m sure the book is richer for that extra effort. So glad to see you are writing a medieval, too. One of my all time favorites is The Wolf and the Dove. Wishing you the best!

    • Gina, thanks so much for the kind thoughts. Wind Raven had now made me a confirmed lover of high seas romance. The prequel to the trilogy, To Tame the Wind (coming in 2015) will also feature ships and a French pirate! But first comes the medieval later this year!

    • Jackie, research IS a lot of work and it takes time. Contemporary authors can put our books so much faster while my head is buried in the past!
