With the explosion in teen books, young adult readers are clamoring for their own cyber-book world and Harper Collins is the latest publisher to create one. The newly launched “Epic Reads” has been designed as a “digital community” for readers, writers and books for Teens.

The website is a work in progress and HarperCollins is requesting input from readers to make the best place possible for their YA readers. There are four parts to the site, each part highlights specific types of books.

Epic Reads is the main site and will feature the newest books, author interviews, and links.

Pitchdark will lead readers to paranormal fiction, time travel and all things unexplained.

Storycrush will highlight those books that make us laugh, and add a little romance.

Figment where you can add a little of yourself to the cyber reading community.

Readers can access the site via Google or Facebook. Diane Naughton, v-p integrated marketing for HarperCollins Children’s Books said: “We felt we needed to create a community where readers of teen books could get in front of our authors and books, and have a relationship with them. We’re making it as easy as we can for readers to connect.”
